Poll App

Create and run simple polls directly in your space.

This article explains what the Poll app is, how to use it, and how admins can add the Poll app to a world. The Poll app is different from the Poll feature found in the Users Menu.

What is the Poll App?

Poll is an interactive app that allows you to ask a single question and collect responses from users. When a user clicks the poll asset in the world, the app opens on the left side of the screen where both admins and users can view and interact with it. Admins control the poll setup, while users can participate by selecting an answer option.

Using Poll

Everyone can use the Poll app. The Poll app is different from the Poll feature found in the Users Menu.

To Use Poll:
  1. Click the Poll asset in the world. The app will open on the left side of your screen.

  2. Select an answer option to submit your response.

  3. Click Refresh to see updated Poll results.

If no one has set up the poll, you will see placeholder text. Only admins can set up the poll question and answer options.

 

 

Poll for Admins

Moderators, Managers, or world Owners can create, update, and manage the poll content and results. The Poll app is different from the Poll feature found in the Users Menu.

To Add Poll:
  1. Click Scenes scenes in the left sidebar.
  2. Search for 'Polling App' in the filter Filter Results search bar.
  3. Hover over the thumbnail image and click Drop Scene drop.

  4. Click an area in the world to drop the Poll app in that location. 

To Create or Update a Poll:

  1. Click the Poll asset in the world. The app will open on the left side of your screen.

  2. Click the Settings settings icon on the upper left side.

  3. Create your poll:
    • Enter the poll question in the question field.
    • Enter at least 2 answer options (max of 10) using the available text fields.
    • Click the Add plus button to add additional answer options.
    • Click the Delete trash button next to an option to remove it.
    • Choose whether poll results are displayed as a Percentage or as the Number of Votes.

  4. Click Save then Yes to apply the changes and update the poll.

Updating the Poll question and options erases any previous responses.

 
To Reset a Poll:

  1. Click the Poll asset in the world. The app will open on the left side of your screen.

  2. Click the Settings settings icon on the upper left side.

  3. Click the Reset button.

  4. Click Yes to confirm and delete all saved poll data.
