Moderation Quick Reference Guide

A quick guide to keep your SchoolSpace world safe and supportive.

This article is a quick reference for moderating your SchoolSpace world. It covers the fastest way to handle common situations, like muting a student, removing or banning a user, and deleting a message, plus key concepts every moderator should know and where to find each tool.

pin icon purple Make a video tile larger (for yourself) Pin the video Pin icon on the video tile that you want to make larger → pin

spotlight icon purple Highlight your video screen for everyone (students can not click out) Use the spotlight feature  Pin icon on the video tile that you want to make larger → Spotlight

 

 social icon purple Ways Students Can Help Themselves
  • Walk Away — move away to end the video/audio connection.

  • Block — stop DMs, video, and audio from one peer.

  • Report — flag behavior to your teacher

  • Ask a Moderator — find a moderator in the world (will have a star icon by their name) or use the Ask a Moderator chat channel.

  • Remove — quick time-out; students can rejoin right away.
  • Ban — blocks re-entry until lifted (World, Chat, DMs, or Platform).
video icon purple Your Own Camera, Mic, Broadcast
  • Camera — click the Camera icon to turn your video on/off.
  • Microphone — click the Mic icon to mute/unmute yourself.
  • Broadcast — click Broadcast, then All (whole world) or Private Zone (available when inside a private zone).
